Robert Kraft: Fifth Super Bowl win ‘unequivocally the sweetest’

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is no stranger to winning Super Bowls. It was just two years ago his team reigned victorious over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 49.

At that time, he told his fans it was “the sweetest one of all.”

“Two years ago, we won our fourth Super Bowl down in Arizona,” Kraft told Fox Sports’ Terry Bradshaw (h/t NFL.com), after receiving the Vince Lombardi Trophy from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “I told our fans that was the sweetest one of all.”

Kraft has now updated his sentiment after the Patriots’ comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI.

“But a lot has transpired during the last two years. I don’t think that needs any explanation. But I want to say to our fans, our brilliant coaching staff, our amazing players who are so spectacular, this is unequivocally the sweetest. I’m proud to say, for the fifth time, we are all Patriots.”

In a true championship effort, the team came from 25 points behind and unleashed a total of 31 unanswered points against the Falcons. The game went into overtime, and at the end of the day quarterback Tom Brady passed for a total of 466 yards and two touchdowns.

It was an absolutely amazing feat by the whole New England team to overcome that 25-point deficit.

Also taking into account the Patriots played the regular season without Brady for the first four games, we can see why Kraft considers this title win just a tad more special than the rest.
