Michael Bennett has hilarious take on his breakup with the Buccaneers

Michael Bennett

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett should have already moved on from his days with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sure the marriage didn’t end on the best of notes. But he’s since earned a Super Bowl ring and has cashed in a total of $25 million with the Seahawks.

But Bennett doesn’t seem to be one that will let things go. That’s obvious with the recent comments he made about his departure from Tampa Bay.

“It always bothers me,” Bennett said to ESPN. “It’s one of those things where the girl you used to date, she marries somebody else. And you’re like, ‘Damn, I should have married her.’ That’s how I feel.”

All the feels.

To be fair to Bennett, the Buccaneers did do him a disservice by not offering him fair-market money following a nine-sack campaign back in 2012.

It’s a mistake Tampa Bay has since come to regret. And it helped set the foundation for one of the most-dominant defenses in the NFL in the Pacific Northwest.

In four seasons with Seattle, Bennett has recorded 30.5 sacks and has earned two trips to the Pro Bowl.
