Lady Gaga Super Bowl show to include hundreds of drones

Lady Gaga

Pop sensation Lady Gaga is expected to put on a visually stunning halftime show for Super Bowl LI Sunday evening. Everything from her performing on top of the roof at NRG Stadium to Tony Bennett joining her on stage has been bandied about.

An activist, Lady Gaga is also expected to touch on the divisiveness in the United States today. The expectation here is that her performance will include some reference to inclusion following the implementation of President Trump’s controversial immigration policy.

In terms of the specific show, it looks like Lady Gaga’s performance will include hundreds of drones.

No, really.

“Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime show will feature hundreds — yes, hundreds — of lit-up drones, a source with knowledge of the show’s production told CNNMoney. The source said the inclusion of unmanned aerial vehicles required clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration, which has placed a ban on drones at or near the stadium,” CNN reported on Sunday.

Drones have long been an issue around the NFL world. Teams generally use drones to tape practice. Though, the FAA put in regulations regarding drone use during games years back. Those regulations have been loosened up a bit for Lady Gaga’s performance.

It will surely be an interesting show. Maybe she will outdo Katy Perry’s left shark, right shark performance during halftime of Super Bowl XLIX a couple years back.
