Jimmy Johnson calls Ezekiel Elliott the most-talented RB in the NFL

Ezekiel Elliott suspension

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is coming off a tremendous rookie season. The former Ohio State star dominated for the upstart Cowboys, posting nearly 2,000 total yards and 16 touchdowns en route to earning a trip to the Pro Bowl. He also led the NFL in rush attempts, rushing yards and rushing yards per game.

Needless to say, Elliott is already in the conversation among the best running backs in the game.

Former Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl-winning head coach Jimmy Johnson took this to an entirely new level recently, indicating that Elliott could very well be the most-talented back in the league.

“Ezekiel Elliott, there’s no telling what he can do. I know this. When he hits that line all of a sudden that pile goes about five yards and when he breaks into the open no one wants to tackle him,” Johnson said, via the Dallas Morning News. “I think he’s the most talented back in the league.”

Johnson surely has experience dealing with elite running backs. He oversaw Emmitt Smith’s ascension to the top of the game with the Cowboys in the 1990s. So when Johnson speaks about a topic such as this, we should definitely listen.

As it relates to his point, we’re sure Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell and Arizona Cardinals ball carrier David Johnson might take exception to this.

But based off what we saw from Elliott as a rookie this past regular season, there’s no debate about the game’s most-talented running back that shouldn’t start with him.
