Deshaun Watson said what to Jason Garrett about Dak Prescott?

Deshaun Watson

Soon to be NFL rookie Deshaun Watson would love to join the Dallas Cowboys, and he has an interesting theory about how that could happen.

During his acceptance speech at the Davey O’Brien awards ceremony, the Clemson quarterback gave Jason Garrett something to chew on (not really) when he said the Cowboys should trade Dak Prescott to the Cleveland Browns and draft him in his stead.

It’s obviously something Watson said with tongue firmly planted in cheek, but this shows the kind of confidence the Clemson product has in himself.

Many who are scouting the upcoming draft class peg Watson as the third-best quarterback (or lower) in the draft behind Mitch Trubisky and DeShone Kizer. And while there are some concerning aspects to his game, such as spotty accuracy and a penchant for escaping pressure in the pocket that doesn’t even exist, Watson is a proven winner who has the physical skills to make some noise at the next level.

His college coach, Dabo Swinney, thinks anyone who doesn’t peg Watson as a first-round talent should lose their jobs. He also said any team passing on Watson this April are passing on Michael Jordan (really, he said that).

It’s going to be fascinating to watch the pre-draft process play out, including the upcoming combine, which Watson has said he will fully participate in. It’s anybody’s guess where he’ll be selected in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft. He could go first overall, or he could fall out of the first round altogether.

We can’t wait.
