Anthony Morrow switching No. 1 jersey ‘asap’ after Bulls fans protest

Anthony Morrow

Anthony Morrow recently became a member of the Chicago Bulls as a part of the trade that sent Taj Gibson to the Oklahoma City Thunder. As it happened, he chose to the No. 1 as his jersey number, a decision that sparked the wrath of Bulls fans.

Little did Morrow know that Bulls fans are vehemently against anyone other than Derrick Rose wearing that particular number.

The poor guy faced some significant public backlash after appearing on the bench wearing that jersey Friday night, a decision he now regrets.

As pointed out by ESPN’s Nick Friedell, Morrow wasn’t even aware he had done anything wrong until reporters informed him of the outcry on social media. He’s not the first player to make this mistake, either. Michael Carter-Williams chose No. 1 in October but quickly made the switch to No. 7 after he also faced public criticism.

Needless to say, we likely won’t see anyone else make this mistake any time soon.
