With the sudden and tragic passing of Yordano Ventura, Sunday is a sad day for Major League Baseball — especially the Kansas City Royals. When Royals Danny Duffy and Christian Colon were at Kauffman Stadium on Sunday, fans of the team were there with condolences to comfort the players.

It’s always uplifting to see things like this when tragedies occur. Obviously, being at Kauffman Stadium to honor Ventura on Sunday afternoon wasn’t where anyone in Kansas City wanted to be 24 hours earlier. But in the face of such an awful event, it’s good to see people coming together to offer condolences to the Royals. It’s also good to see Kansas City players embracing the fans.
Colon, obviously deeply affected by the tragic news, also posted a heartfelt message to his late teammate.

Ventura was definitely taken from this world far too soon. But in the aftermath of his death, we can clearly see that he made a mark.
