Report: Kyle Lowry’s home hit by ‘multi-million dollar jewelry burglary ring’

Kyle Lowry

The Philadelphia area home of Toronto Raptors star guard Kyle Lowry was robbed recently.

A report from Joe Holden of CBS Philly detailed that Lowry’s home was one of many hit in a “multi-million dollar burglary ring” targeting jewels.

Lowry is certainly not the first professional athlete to be targeted. In October, the home of Denver Broncos star Demarcus Ware was robbed, which you can read more about here.

Athletes are natural targets. Of course, they make a lot of money, and naturally their homes are more likely to have valuables. Additionally, they’re not only on the road a lot, but they have very public schedules. So, it’s quite easy for potential thieves to know when the potential target homes will be unoccupied.

Fortunately for Lowry, there’s some good news.

First off, the perpetrators were found and the ring was revealed. Odds are good that his property will be recovered and returned, assuming that hasn’t happened already.

Second and most importantly, while Lowry’s home was robbed, nobody was reported to be hurt. We can only hope that was the case with the other victims of this burglary ring, as well.
