The Los Angeles Chargers have made their first major move in their new city. According to Benjamin Allbright of 1340 AM in Denver, the team will name former Buffalo Bills interim head coach Anthony Lynn their new full-time head coach.

Lynn met with the Chargers for the second time Thursday, a day that has to be considered a whirlwind for both the head coach and the organization.
Lynn, 48, began the 2016 campaign as the Bills running backs coach. He was then promoted to offensive coordinator earlier in the year when Greg Roman was let go. Once Rex Ryan was fired with one game remaining, Lynn took over as the team’s interim head coach.
A former NFL running back, Lynn started his coaching career with the Denver Broncos as a special assistant back in 2000. After spending with Denver, Lynn would go on to be the running backs coach at various stops, including stints with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets.
Lynn had previously interviewed for the San Francisco 49ers’ opening and was considered an option or the Bills before they hired Sean McDermott.
This comes on the same day that the Chargers officially announced that they will be relocating from San Diego to Los Angeles for the 2017 season (more on that here).
With this reported hiring, the San Francisco 49ers’ job is only remaining opening in the NFL. New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is considered the favorite to land that job.
