Kyle Lowry has harsh words against the travel ban

Kyle Lowry

President Donald Trump’s ban on travel from certain Muslim countries has provoked strong reactions on both sides of the issue. Some vehemently protest the ban as illegal, unconstitutional and immoral, while others think the ban is exactly what this country needs to stay safe. Just don’t count Kyle Lowry among the latter.

The Toronto Raptors point guard gave an unfiltered opinion of dissent on Monday, which you can listen to in full detail here. He uses language that we won’t print here, but his sentiment is crystal clear.

“I think it’s bull–,” Lowry said. “I think it’s absolute bull–. I mean, our country is…the home of the free. And for that to happen, I think it’s bull–. I mean I’m not going to get into it too deeply, but personally I think it’s bull–.”

When asked if he was interested in making his statement a little cleaner for print, Lowry was clear he had no interest in doing so.

“No,” he said when asked if he wanted to try again without swearing. “Not at all. Y’all gotta bleep that out. That’s how I feel about it.”

Lowry certainly isn’t alone in this sentiment. Many professional athletes and even some coaches have spoken out about the travel ban on people from Muslim countries. Thankfully, they have every right to voice their dissent, and voice it loudly here in America.
