Johnny Manziel explains Twitter disappearance

Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel made headlines Monday when he called out President Donald Trump for all of his Twitter activity, responding to negative notifications. Then, all of a sudden, Manziel’s Twitter profile was no more.

We wondered if Manziel shut down his account or if perhaps it was shut down by someone else. Now we have our answer.

“Twitter has been nothing but a distraction for me. I’ve said all I can say,” Manziel told TMZ Sports. “Now I need to shut the hell up and work on bettering myself and my situation.”

The former Cleveland Browns quarterback has been vocal of late regarding his desire to become a better person and get back to playing football. He even said he’s sober, without any professional help.

He recently re-enrolled at Texas A&M to keep a promise to his parents, and he’s gotten an invitation to play in the brand new Spring League set to open this spring. That said, there is no doubt he’d rather play in the NFL, though it remains unclear if a second chance is going to be waiting for him in 2017.

Clearly, he’s trying to get his life back on track, and it’s not a horrible ideal to stay off Twitter while he’s doing so.
