President Donald Trump has many advisers now that he’s taken over as the Commander in Chief of the United States of America. One person he doesn’t have in his employ is Johnny Manziel, but based on the sound advice the former Cleveland Browns quarterback gave Monday, perhaps that should change.
“Yo @POTUS even I know to stay away from the notifications section on twitter,” Manziel wrote. “S– will drive you crazy, lead the country and let them hate. Responds to everything thats said about him when there is REAL S– going on in the world. S– even dumber than selling Super Bowl Selfies”
This is advice many of us should take to heart, especially those of us who author divisive articles or tweets on hot-button topics that are read by the masses. We are wise to stay away from looking at or responding to the comments section, or in the case of Twitter, the notifications that follow tweets.
So, while taking life advice from Johnny Manziel might seem counter intuitive, in this case it makes perfect sense.
On that note, perhaps Johnny Football really is turning the corner.
He recently told Ed Werder of ESPN that he’s clean and sober, achieving this state without any professional help. He also wants to play again in 2017 (more on that here) and already has an invitation to join the new Spring League being started this year, along with the likes of Ray Rice and Vince Young.
