Eric Dickerson welcomes Sean McVay to the Rams

Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson was in the news a great deal during the 2016 Los Angeles Rams season. A not-so-private spat with the organization over former head coach Jeff Fisher morphed into Dickerson himself refusing to attend any of the team’s games (more on that here).

For Dickerson, it was all about his former squad moving on from the mediocrity that Fisher brought to the table.

Now that the Rams have hired former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay to be their new head coach, Dickerson is looking to mend broken fences.

This was likely going to be the end result no matter who the Rams hired to replace Fisher. But it tells us a story of at least one former Rams great making sure that his old team knows he’s on board.

Dickerson played for the Los Angeles Rams from 1983-87 and still holds the NFL single-season rookie rushing mark. It’s players of his ilk that the Rams are going to want involved as they continue to make their mark in Southern California after relocating back from St. Louis this past season.
