EA Sports Madden NFL viciously trolls Tony Romo

Tony Romo

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones raised some eyebrows Tuesday morning when he told a radio station that Tony Romo will play in a Super Bowl at some point before he retires.

“I really believe that Tony Romo will play in a Super Bowl,” Jones said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Now try that one on. I know that if he’s healthy enough, he’ll be in a Super Bowl. I strongly believe that.”

The folks at EA Sports had a little fun with this quote, having seen it via Pro Football Talk on Twitter.

That’s just ice cold. Still, one can’t help but chuckle at the burn, even if it’s pretty harsh.

Romo has always been a class act. He may never win a Super Bowl as a starter now that Dak Prescott is the unquestioned starter in Dallas. But it’s a little messed up to troll him so hard for falling short of that ultimate goal. Even if he does get traded to another team, which the Cowboys will make their top priority this year, it’s no guarantee he’ll ever be healthy enough to last an entire season.

Many great quarterbacks have never won championships, and it wouldn’t be to Romo’s shame if he didn’t, either.
