Cowboys, Patriots support Raiders relocation to Las Vegas

Mark Davis

As NFL owners meet to discuss the potential relocation of the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers, it’s becoming increasingly evident that one of the teams might receive a go-ahead on Wednesday.

Interestingly enough, and to the shock of those around the football world, that team might very well be the Raiders.

A report late Tuesday indicated that this meetings were to set a clear path for the Raiders to relocate to Las Vegas (more on that here).

Now that the meetings are underway, two high-profile owners have come out in support of the Raiders moving to the desert metropolis.

Dallas Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones followed suit.

In addition to this, Davis was seen chatting up 49ers CEO Jed York. San Francisco’s ownership group sits on the NFL’s stadium committee and would play a role in any vote set to take place on Wednesday.

This all comes with a bit of an interesting backstory. Long seen as already having one foot in Los Angeles, there’s renewed hope that the Chargers’ situation in San Diego could be salvageable. That’s definitely another aspect of the meetings we should keep an eye on.

We will have updates as they become available from the meetings.
