Former NFL player Konrad Reuland passes away at 29

Shortly after their loss to the New England Patriots on Monday night, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had some rather sad news to share. The long-time Ravens head man announced the passing of former Baltimore tight end Konrad Reuland.

According to Harbaugh, Reuland passed away Monday after suffering a brain aneurysm. He was just 29 years old.

“We lost a Raven today,” Harbaugh said, via ESPN.com. “I just want to offer condolences to his family. We love Konrad Reuland. Every single guy in the locker room loves him.”

A Stanford alum, Reuland played for the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets and Ravens throughout his three-year NFL career. He last suited up in a regular season game for the Ravens back in 2015. He was released by the Indianapolis Colts after spending time with the team during the summer.

Rueland was born in Southern California and played for Notre Dame prior to transferring to Stanford. He was undrafted back in 2011, ultimately deciding to sign with Jim Harbaugh’s 49ers following the draft itself.
