Falcons WR Julio Jones will play this week

In need of a win to capture the NFC South title, the Atlanta Falcons will have star wide receiver Julio Jones back in the mix. Jones has missed the past two games with a sprained toe.

While Atlanta did score 40-plus points and win each of the two games Jones missed, that was against the likes of the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

Taking on a Carolina Panthers squad that’s still mathematically alive in the NFC Playoff race, this weekend’s game promises to be more competitive.

Remember, Jones put up a career-best performance in Atlanta’s first game with Carolina, recording 12 receptions for an absurd 300 yards. While we can’t expect a repeat performance here, his presence will surely help the Falcons. Jones has recorded 72 receptions for a league-leading 1,253 yards this season.

Atlanta currently finds itself at 9-5 on the season and in first place in the NFC South. It is also just a half game behind Seattle for the No. 2 seed in the conference.
