In what shouldn’t be considered terribly surprising news, the Cleveland Browns on Thursday named Robert Griffin III the team’s starter for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

It was reportedly earlier in the week that RGIII would start barring any setbacks in practice. Now that we are closer to game day, the Browns figured it made sense to make this official.
RGIII has not suited up for a game since injuring his shoulder back in Week 1. In the 11 games since, the Browns have trotted out a plethora of quarterbacks en route to remaining winless.
The hope here for Cleveland is that RGIII can somehow provide the team with the jump-start it has been missing all season. In his only start as a member fo the Browns, the former Washington Redskins No. 2 overall pick put up 227 total yards in a 29-10 loss to the Eagles.
