Brandon Marshall shares awful, racist hate mail he received at work

Despite some amazing progress by many in America, there is still a section of society that harbors real hate for people of color. This can be clearly seen in a letter shared on Instagram by Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall.

Because the language is so blatantly visceral and offensive, we won’t feature the picture, but you can see it here.

Among other things, the person who wrote the hate mail called Marshall a “worthless [explitive] nigger,” a “black [explitive] porch monkey” who needs to “move back to the jungle.”

If you’re anything like me, then this not only makes you incredibly sad, but mad as hell.

Responding to the letter, Marshall penned this:

“The hatred by some against people of color is one of the reasons we are where we’re at in the world today, and they wonder why we feel the way we do and take the stances that we take. I received this letter at work.”

One of the players who knelt during the national anthem recently, Marshall has been working to bring awareness to the police violence against people of color in America. He actually lost sponsors for his stance (more on that here), which continues to be wildly controversial, though Marshall did stop kneeling recently.
