With a key loss against division rival Kansas City Chiefs on “Thursday Night Football,” the Oakland Raiders are searching for any bit of good news in regards to the team.
Enter Aldon Smith, who reportedly met with key NFL officials in hopes of vying for reinstatement.

Smith, who was suspended by the league for an entire year following a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy, has reportedly done all he can to re-join the league. He recently extended his rehab for alcohol abuse by two months.
Smith applied for reinstatement over a month ago and tried to set up a meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell, which was delayed for a few weeks.
Now that Smith finally met with Goodell, it could bode well for the Raiders. The team hopes to get one of the league’s most feared pass rushers to bolster a defense that is in need of any help it can get.
Regardless, the final decision rests with Goodell and whether or not he feels Smith did enough to meet his requirements for reinstatement.
