WATCH: President Obama cracks on Michael Jordan over Internet meme

President Barack Obama invited three dozen individuals to the White House on Tuesday to rewards them the Presidential Medal of Freedom. It’s a highly-regarded honor, one that is limited to those individuals that have impacted the world in a positive way through altruism and philanthropy.

Among those in attendance to receive the honor was former Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards guard Michael Jordan. The Hall of Famer seemed genuinely emotional about receiving the honor, but the seriousness of the moment was broken up a tad with Obama cracking a pretty solid joke about the crying Jordan Internet meme that has taken the online world by storm over the years.

Yes, that’s some rather hilarious stuff right there.

Also in attendance to receive medals were actors Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro and Robert Redford as well as fellow professional sports Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others.

Politics aside, we’re definitely going to miss Obama’s humor at the highest office the world has to offer. Let’s hope his successor finds a way to follow his lead here.
