Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner resigns

In what has to be considered an absolutely shocking turn of events in the NFL, Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner has announced his resignation.

The announcement came via the team’s official Twitter account Wednesday morning and was met with speculation regarding what exactly happened behind the scenes in Minnesota.

Tight ends coach Pat Shurmur replaces Turner as the team’s offensive coordinator for the remainder of the season. Shurmur is best known as one of the many Cleveland Browns head coaches over the past two decades. He led Cleveland to a 9-23 record in 2011 and 2012.

It’s not yet known if Turner was forced from his job in Minnesota. Despite being without Teddy Bridgewater, Adrian Peterson and Matt Kalil, the Vikings started the season with a 5-0 record. Unfortunately, the team has lost two consecutive games and is averaging just 10 points per outing during that span.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
