Steve Smith Sr. joins NFL’s exclusive 1,000-catch club

He’s played in 214 career games. He now has 1,000 career catches for 14,349 receiving yards and 78 touchdowns … and counting. The career of Steve Smith Sr. has been nothing short of remarkable.

Midway through the third quarter against the Dallas Cowboys, Smith Sr. hit an incredible milestone when he registered his 1,000th career reception.

In his 16th season, Smith becomes only the 14th player in NFL history to catch 1,000 passes, a remarkable feat for one of the toughest players to strap up cleats in the NFL.

Smith, known just as much for his brash personality as much as his athletic prowess, is the heart and soul of the Ravens offense.

Consider this just another in a long list of milestones Steve Smith has set on his road to what is sure to be a Hall of Fame induction shortly after he chooses to retire.

Here’s to you, Steve Smith, for being an idol for many.
