Jeff Fisher impressed by ‘Patriots’ running back Danny Woodhead

Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher isn’t doing too much to quiet the criticism he has received during the team’s first season back in Southern California.

At 4-7 on the season, the Rams are pretty much out of the NFC Playoff race. They have lost six of their past seven games and are currently mired in a controversy with Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson. Heck, even this one outspoken celebrity has called for Fisher’s head on a platter.

In talking to the New England Patriots’ media in the lead up to his team’s game against Tom Brady and Co., Fisher attempted to loft praise his opponent’s way.

He called Danny Woodhead a playmaker for the first-place Patriots. Nice gesture, right?

Well, considering Woodhead is currently sitting injured reserve for the San Diego Chargers, this probably threw a lot for a loop in the media session.

Let’s sure hope that Fisher isn’t scheming to stop a player in Woodhead that has not suited up for the Patriots since 2012. That probably wouldn’t end too well for the Rams come Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Heck, who are we kidding? Fisher going up against Bill Belichick is the equivalent of Jessica Simpson trying to beat Bobby Fischer in chess.
