Eagles troll Packers with 4th-and-26 on scoreboard before MNF

The Philadelphia Eagles are having some fun ahead of their Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers. The scoreboard at Lincoln Financial Field featured a not so subtle reminder of one of Philadelphia’s past playoff triumphs against Green Bay.

For anyone who needs a reminder, the two teams played in the 2003-04 playoffs during the Divisional Round. When Philadelphia was trailing late, facing a 4th-and-26, Green Bay seemed to have the game won. Unfortunately for the Packers, Donovan McNabb found Freddie Mitchell for 28 yards. It helped the Eagles set up the tying field goal. They later won in overtime.

It’s a solid troll move.

Normally speaking, something that happened so long ago wouldn’t be too relevant. Not many people who were associated with either organization remain with the respective teams. But given how well Green Bay fans historically travel, this is likely to at least get under the skin of a few cheeseheads.
