Colts QB Andrew Luck remains in concussion protocol

The Indianapolis Colts need to have Andrew Luck back on the field this upcoming week if they want to remain viable in the AFC Playoff race.

Luck missed the Thanksiving day matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers after suffering a concussion back in Week 11. Considering it was a short week of practice, no one should be terribly surprised by his absence. Though, the Colts went on to drop the game 28-7 with Scott Tolzien under center.

Now at 5-6 on the season, Indianapolis finds itself in third place in the AFC South, one game behind the Houston Texans and a half game behind the Tennessee Titans.

Needless to say, Monday night’s game against the New York Jets is a must win for this struggling football team.

Unfortunately for the Colts, Luck reportedly remains in the concussion protocol and has yet to be cleared to practice.

Considering the Colts don’t play until Monday, this isn’t as big of a deal as it would be if they had their normal Sunday game this upcoming week.

Luck now needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist and get in a full practice before the end of the week in order to take to the field Monday. Despite this recent news, that’s still expected to happen.
