Steve Smith Sr. is outspoken against domestic violence. He made headlines this week by blasting New York Giants kicker Josh Brown. He’s also going to be wearing custom made cleats this Sunday when the New York Jets host the Baltimore Ravens.
Here is a look at the cleats, which read “Break the Silence.”

Smith’s comments towards Brown were taken by some to be extreme, but we can bet many fathers and brothers feel the same way.
He later clarified his stance on domestic violence with a more lengthy post.

Smith hasn’t shied away from confronting this issue in the past as well. He blasted Greg Hardy last year after his infamous ESPN interview in which he said he never laid a hand on a woman (more on that here).
We love the cleats, but we’re betting the NFL will not. Smith, if he wears them in the game, will certainly be fined by the league. We cannot wait for Smith’s Twitter response when that letter comes in the mail.
It remains to be seen if Smith will play Sunday. He’s been listed as doubtful after missing last week as well with an ankle injury.
