Apparently the Pittsburgh Steelers are not content with boasting one of the top running back duos in the NFL in Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams.

In a clear example of the rich getting richer, Pittsburgh announced on Wednesday that it has signed former Buffalo Bills running back Karlos Williams to the practice squad .

It’s not too often you can nab a player of Williams ilk this late into the season. It’s extremely rare to be able to sign him to the practice squad.

A 2015 fifth-round pick out of Florida State last season, Williams torched NFC East defenses for an average of 5.6 yards per rush en route to scoring nine touchdowns on just 104 touches as a rookie.

He quickly fell out of favor in Buffalo after showing up to off-season activities overweight. Then, a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy pretty much put an end to his Bills career.

At just 23 years old and with a tremendously high ceiling, this is likely more a move for the future for the Steelers.

DeAngelo Williams isn’t getting any younger and is set to become a free agent following this season.

The idea of teaming Karlos Williams up with Bell has to be sexy. Of course, that’s dependent on both of them remaining clean off the field.
