Raiders punter Marquette King clocked as team’s second-fastest player

Marquette King Marshawn Lynch

When people would discuss the Oakland Raiders towards the end of the Al Davis era, the first thing that often came to mind was “speed”. While that led to some questionable drafting, such as taking Darrius Heyward-Bey over Michael Crabtree in the 2009 NFL Draft, speed is still a hallmark of the Raiders, even at the punter position.

On a broken play, Raiders punter Marquette King recorded a beautiful run where he went for a first down.

While some fans clamored for the Raiders to run fake punts, or to include King on offense, many fail to realize just how fast King really was on that play.

Truly amazing to think about. On a roster loaded with speedsters, the punter is one of the fastest players on the field.

Definitely a nice weapon to have.

And for those wondering just who was the fastest Raider on Sunday? That honor goes to wide receiver Johnny Holton.
