Marcus Peters takes shot at Derek Carr’s arm strength

Marcus Peters trade

Marcus Peters is steadily developing into one of the NFL’s best players at the cornerback position, and he isn’t shying away from the microphone while doing so.

Following the Chief’s 26-10 win over the Oakland Raiders on a rain-soaked field, a game in which Marcus Peters picked off Oakland star quarterback Derek Carr.

After the game, Peters took a shot at Carr’s arm strength.

“Crabtree had me beat… but I knew he [Carr] couldn’t throw it that far,” he said, per the team website.

Here is the play in question.

It was definitely an ill-advised pass by Carr, to say the least.

While it’s hard to argue against how special Carr’s arm strength is, Peters is excellent at baiting quarterbacks into thinking a receiver is open and turning that mistake into a big interception.

Peters, an Oakland native, is definitely next up in a long line of outspoken, elite players at the cornerback position. One can expect his battles with Oakland star wide receiver Amari Cooper to be a treat to watch for the next decade.

But don’t think for a second that Carr won’t be itching to take his best shot at the cornerback the next time they meet up. Which, by the way, will be Dec. 8 at Arrowhead Stadium, in case anyone was wondering.
