Report: LeSean McCoy will not play Sunday against Dolphins

LeSean McCoy

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is currently hobbled with a hamstring injury that will keep him out of Sunday’s AFC East clash with the Miami Dolphins.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, he’s out for the upcoming game and potentially longer. The Bills weren’t sure how bad the hamstring injury was after the running back tweaked it during Wednesday’s practice (more on that here).

Obviously, the Bills will be at a disadvantage without McCoy in the lineup. He is coming off a tremendous 140-yard, three-touchdown game against the San Francisco 49ers and has rushed for more yardage this year (587 yards) than everyone besides rookie sensation Ezekiel Elliott with the Dallas Cowboys.

The veteran back is a huge reason the Bills have won four games in a row and are poised to make a run at the playoffs for the first time since 1999.

With McCoy out of the lineup Sunday against the Dolphins, we’d expect the Bills to rely on third-year back Mike Gillislee to start and would sprinkle in the rookie, Jonathan Williams as a complementary back.
