Cavaliers move ring ceremony start time to not conflict with World Series

LeBron James NBA championship Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Indians will have special events happening on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The Cavs are going to receive their championship rings, while the Indians will be opening up the World Series against the Chicago Cubs.

Both events were going to be happening at the same time. This is why the Cavaliers have moved up their ring ceremony 30 minutes so as to not conflict with Game 1 of the World Series, per Pro Basketball Talk.

“So in the spirit of city unity the Cavaliers have moved up the start time of their ring ceremony by 30 minutes, and the game by 30 minutes as well. The ring ceremony now begins at 7 p.m. Eastern, with tip-off against the Knicks at 7:30 (both will be broadcast on TNT, followed by the Spurs at the Warriors).”

Game 1 of the World Series will start at 8 p.m. ET.

For a city that previously hadn’t seen a championship since 1964 before the Cavs finally broke through this past spring, things are jumping right now. Cleveland now just needs the Browns to get some of that magic going to enjoy a trifecta of winning teams.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen, though. In the meantime, just soak in the glory that is Cleveland sports, minus the football.
