Alshon Jeffery is really upset about Bears’ red-zone woes

It has most definitely been a frustrating past couple seasons for wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and the Chicago Bears. Sitting at 1-5 on the season and tied for the worst record in the NFC, Chicago has now lost 15 of its past 22 dating back to the start of the 2015 campaign.

While Jeffery looks to change this on the field, it’s readily apparent that he’s becoming increasingly frustrated about his team’s performance. More to the point, he seems pretty upset over its inability to actually score touchdowns.

“We gotta score f—— touchdowns. That’s it. Touchdowns win games. S—. You see what three points get us,” Jeffery said on Tuesday, via WGN Radio.

It’s not a surprise that Jeffery himself is displeased. Chicago ranks 25th among NFL teams in red-zone efficiency, scoring touchdowns just 47.4 percent of the time it crosses into the opposition’s 20-yard line.

The Bears have lost their past two games by a combined seven points. In each outing, Brian Hoyer has missed a wide open Jeffery in the end zone in crucial situations.

We might be able to understand Jeffery’s frustration. But this is something that’s probably better left talked about within the confines of the team itself, not in the press.
