WATCH: Kevin Durant joins Drake on stage in Oakland

New Golden State Warriors forward and former league MVP Kevin Durant is doing what he can to make himself popular within the team’s fan base.

Shortly after signing with the two-time defending Western Conference champs, Durant (a noted Biggie fan) got a pretty awesome Tupac tattoo (more on that here).

Now with just a couple weeks remaining until the opening of training camp, Durant was seen at Oracle Arena with hip-hop artist Drake.

In fact, the musician introduced Durant to a boisterous crowd — most of whom were likely Warriors fans.

“I told you, y’all was getting some big rings this year,” Drake said after introducing Durant.

An unofficial member of the Toronto Raptors as the team’s “global ambassador,” it’s interesting that Drake himself would spark up a relationship with a superstar on another team.

Drake has also surrounded himself with other members of what is now being called a super team in Oakland, including two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry.

The shout out to Durant and his new Warriors team likely wasn’t done with altruism in mind. Durant promises to be the face of one of the best teams in recent NBA history. Pairing up with him on stage in Oakland can’t be a bad thing for Drake’s career.
