WATCH: Jacoby Brissett takes it 27 yards for a TD

Jacoby Brissett

Making his first career NFL start, rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett didn’t take too long to make his impact known for the New England Patriots.

The rookie third-round pick scored on a dazzling 27-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give New England a 10-0 early lead over the Houston Texans.

We shouldn’t be surprised that the North Carolina State product was able to use his legs to his advantage.

We should, however, be stunned that New England leads 10-0 with its third-string quarterback making his first NFL start against another undefeated team.

Remember, Tom Brady is suspended for the first four games of the season. And after performing at an elite level in his first two career starts, Jimmy Garoppolo was injured last week.

No reason to worry, Brissett is apparently more than capable of picking up the slack.
