Report: Demaryius Thomas seen grabbing hip and grimacing at practice

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas returned to the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a hip injury in the team’s season opener.

That’s the good news.

Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to go according to plan for the Pro Bowl pass catcher.

Wednesday is the most significant in-week practice day. If Thomas is indeed grabbing his hip and grimacing in pain, that’s most definitely not a good sign.

Thomas put up just four receptions for 48 yards in the Broncos’ win over the Carolina Panthers last week. He was obviously slowed down by the hip injury.

The hope here for Denver is that Thomas will be a go Sunday against an Indianapolis Colts defense that was torched by Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions last week.

At this point, and based off this practice report, it doesn’t look too great.
