The Milwaukee Bucks made a relatively big move for their future on Monday, signing all-everything wing Giannis Antetokounmpo to a four-year, $100 million extension.

This extension is rather interesting for a number of reasons. First off, it reportedly doesn’t include an opt-out clause for the Greek Freak.
Secondly, it’s less than the maximum for someone of Antetokounmpo’s experience — a clear sign he was willing to take less to help the team out.
A first-round pick of the Bucks back in 2013, Antetokounmpo averaged 16.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists this past season. At just 21 years old, the upside seems to be unlimited here.
Also likely playing a role in his decision to sign the extension now, the wing will only be 25 years old when the contract expires. He’ll then be able to hit the proverbial jackpot in free agency.
