LOOK: What happened to all the Twins’ fans?

The fans attending Thursday afternoon’s game between the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins needn’t worry about elbow room or personal space.

After estimating that the crowd at the game was well under 2,500 LaVelle E. Neal of The Minneapolis Star Tribune took a picture that proved he’s no liar.

A Reddit posting also estimated that the game had drawn “about 400 people,” and even that seems a little high.

So, what gives?

For starters, the Twins are 55-96. They are 4.5 games clear of the Atlanta Braves for baseball’s worst record.

Additionally, mid-week day games are often poorly attended, especially once summer vacation is over.

Lastly, this is a makeup game between the two teams. The original game was scheduled for Wednesday night, but was rained out.

We can say with a good deal of certainty that post-game traffic is not likely to be a problem for anyone.
