Jets head coach: We had a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting

Todd Bowles

Following their disastrous 24-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, it appears that the New York Jets have turned to faith.

Maybe it’s the eight turnovers the team committed that has it thinking divine intervention is needed here. Either way, Jets players and coaches have provided quite the list of quotables a since Sunday’s loss.

Head coach Todd Bowles is the latest to turn to religion at this time of on-field despair.

“Anytime you lose like that, you have to have a come-to-Jesus meeting,” Bowles said, via ESPN.

We’re not too sure what that’s supposed to mean. Either way, that wasn’t the only reference to faith coming from the Jets locker room after their stinker of a performance.

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall called the acquisition of tight end Austin Seferian a God sent on Tuesday as well.

At 1-2 on the season and two games behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East, it might take something otherworldly for the Jets to get back in the playoff race. Their trek back to respectability begins Sunday at home against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.
