The Los Angeles Lakers likely won’t challenge for a playoff spot, barring a few miracles. With that in mind, a reporter asked Metta World Peace on Monday to define what a successful season would look like for this franchise during the 2016-17 season.
His answer was spectacular.

This is just classic, and funny.
But really, did anyone expect Metta to give a different answer?
As one of the men who won an NBA title with the Lakers in 2010, and as a guy who made a name for himself as the toughest perimeter defender on God’s green Earth, of course Metta was going to say, “To come out on top.”
A roster full of youth that has a long way to go before a winning season is in the cards. A rookie head coach. None of that makes any difference to a veteran like Metta, who has only the highest goal in mind.
