Bills WR Sammy Watkins might not play Sunday

Sammy Watkins

At 0-2 on the season, the Buffalo Bills already find themselves facing an uphill battle in the AFC East. Set to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, that battle might end up being nearly impossible to win.

Not helping matters much here, star wide receiver Sammy Watkins remains hampered by a foot injury he’s been dealing with since the spring.

While Watkins has been able to go in the first two games, it’s readily apparent he’s not 100 percent. The former first-round pick has recorded six receptions for 63 yards without a touchdown on 11 targets.

That’s not exactly the type of production Rex Ryan and Co. are looking for from him. Unfortunately, there’s now a possibility the team might not even see him take the field come Sunday.

Implementing a new scheme under interim offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn, the Bills would love to have their top pass catcher actually on the field and able to contribute.

Should that not happen, an already watered-down playbook might very well lead to another disastrous on-field performance for the struggling Bills.
