Report: Bills fired Greg Roman right after having him pose for team photo

The story of how Greg Roman got fired by the Buffalo Bills continues to get stranger and stranger. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills fired Roman immediately after having him pose for team photos.

“Greg Roman’s final act as the Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator was to take the team picture that was scheduled for mid-day Friday, according to sources,” Schefter wrote. “After Roman, and all the Bills coaches and players posed for the picture, head coach Rex Ryan informed Roman that he was relieving him of his duties.”

Harsh doesn’t even begin to describe this.

That’s far from the only weird thing about this move, too.

Ryan made a huge point of stating that firing Roman was “my move, without question” the day it happened. He said that he met with team owners and told them of his plans, and that the entire thing was his baby.

Then on Sunday, Ian Rapoport passed along some contradictory information. He reported that ownership actually met with Bills offensive players behind Ryan’s back and that the head coach was angry about being left out in the cold (more on that here).

At this point, Ryan better be careful about taking any photos with the team. He’s clearly the next man on the chopping block if the Bills don’t turn their 0-2 season around in a hurry.
