Zach Ertz fires back at Josh Norman

Washington’s Josh Norman has been very vocal since inking a deal as the NFL’s richest cornerback.

Besides the ongoing dispute between Norman and New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the corner recently made it known that he doesn’t think that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford is that good.

Not putting up with any trash talk against his quarterback, Eagles tight end Zach Ertz fired back at Norman.

“I think everyone is excited to see him play in a new scheme,” Ertz said, per Eliot Shorr-Parks of nj.com. “Whether it is going to be beneficial or detrimental.”

Ertz must be following the same sentiment of what others believe might happen to Norman this year. According to the report, Norman will be lining up to cover more players in Washington’s scheme versus when he played for the Carolina Panthers. This could prove to be more trying for him.

Ertz also noted that Norman will be challenged going up against some of the best receivers in the league in that of Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowler Dez Bryant and the aforementioned OBJ. Interestingly enough, Ertz failed to mention any of his own team’s receivers.

The tight end did credit Norman for the “unbelievable things” he did in Carolina. That follows in line with Norman’s confidence in himself.

While we wait for Patrick Peterson and Richard Sherman to weigh in on this bold statement, it is cool that Ertz did not hesitate to defend his quarterback.

The NFC East is always one of the more entertaining divisions to follow. That won’t be any different this upcoming season.
