Vikings reportedly shopping center John Sullivan

Prior to missing all of last season with a back injury, Minnesota Vikings center John Sullivan had started all but three games over the past six years.

Unfortunately for the 31-year-old offensive lineman, last season’s injury has made him expendable for the defending NFC North champs.

This can’t be considered too much of a surprise. Fellow veteran Joe Berger started all 16 games in Sullivan’s stead last season, performing at an exceptionally high level in the process.

There promises to be some interest in Sullivan’s services on the trade block. The Washington Redskins had worked out a deal for New England Patriots center Bryan Stork, but he failed his physical on Friday.

In addition to nixing that deal, the Skins are still in need of a starting center and now have an additional sixth-round pick to work with.

Regardless, it looks like Sullivan will be swapping teams between now and the start of the regular season. Where he ends up is anyone’s guess.
