Vikings release center John Sullivan

After reportedly attempting to trade the long-time starter, the Minnesota Vikings have now released center John Sullivan.

It’s an unfortunate end to a Vikings career that has spanned eight seasons and 93 starts.

With Sullivan sidelined all of last season, the Vikings went with fellow veteran Joe Berger at center. He responded by playing extremely well.

In reality, the writing had to be on the wall here for Sullivan. He didn’t suit up during the team’s third preseason game, a clear indication that he was on the outs.

Though, when Sullivan is healthy, he’s considered one of the top-five centers in the game. It will definitely be interesting to see where he lands.
