Trevor Siemian sidelined with sore shoulder

Trevor Siemian Broncos

It’s definitely not time for the Denver Broncos to panic, but the defending champ’s quarterback situation looks dire.

Fresh off news that veteran Mark Sanchez could very well be cut should he continue to struggle, comes this potentially troubling development.

Siemian is expected to make his second consecutive start when Denver takes on the Los Angeles Rams this week. Considering it’s the team’s third preseason game, that’s no small thing.

Teams tend to play their starters more in the third game as a tune up for the regular season. If Siemian is starting that game, he’s likely heading into the year as the starter.

It’s also important to note that reports earlier this week suggested rookie first-round pick Paxton Lynch is still in the mix for the starting gig.

There’s no indication how serious Siemian’s shoulder injury is. With that said, being forced from practice in the lead up to the biggest preseason game is somewhat of a big deal.
