Rob Gronkowski not at Tuesday practice, injury considered ‘minor’

Rob Gronkowski

After taking himself out of practice on Monday, scaring New England Patriots fans and fantasy football owners everywhere, Rob Gronkowski wasn’t at practice on Tuesday, either.

That said, the injury he suffered is not considered to be a major issue, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media passed along Monday night. This sentiment was echoed by ESPN’s Mike Reiss Tuesday morning.

The Pats are hosting the Denver Broncos for joint practices this week. Holding Gronk out at this point is likely a precautionary measure.

After all, it’s well documented what he can do, and a couple of missed days are not going to affect his ability to produce in 2016.

Still, that Gronkowski continues to get banged up on such a regular basis is somewhat concerning. He hasn’t been able to finish a full NFL season since 2011. Since then, the talented tight end has missed at least one game in each season, missing significant time in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this latest development. Likely, it’s going to end up being nothing in the long run.
