Recently released former Buffalo Bills running back Karlos Williams may soon have himself a new home.

Mere days after Buffalo sent him packing, it’s being reported that the second-year back has visited with the division-rival New York Jets.

This is most definitely an interested turn of events. Williams is suspended the first four games of the season after violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Adding to the intrigue, Bills head coach Rex Ryan is the one usually poaching players from his former Jets squad.

Williams, 23, had himself a stellar rookie season for the Bills. He averaged 5.6 yards per rush while scoring nine total touchdowns.

That’s before he fell out of favor in Buffalo during an offseason in which conditioning and substance abuse both became issues.

If Williams were to sign with the Jets, he’d likely act as Matt Forte’s primary backup. It’s a move that could certainly help the team from a depth standpoint.
