Report: Rams expected to extend Jeff Fisher and Les Snead before season

The Los Angeles Rams are seeking to extend head coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead before the start of the season, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This is something that has been talked about for a while, much to the surprise of many who believe Fisher is nothing more than a mediocre head coach. In truth, his record speaks for itself. With a career 169-156-1 mark and a record of 27-36-1 with the Rams, he’s almost always hovering around the .500 mark from year to year.

Snead has stocked the Rams’ roster full of talent on the defensive side of the ball and has invested in bulking up the offensive line. However, it remains to be seen if the players (other than running back Todd Gurley) on offense he’s brought in are going to pan out.

The Rams gave up a ton of draft currency to move up to No. 1 this past draft and select Jared Goff (stunning details here). They’re banking on the rookie to make them relevant once again, coinciding with the move to LA.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the Rams do in the coming years. Owner Stan Kroenke has been loyal to his coaches, even if he wasn’t able to be loyal to his fans, but it remains to be seen if that’s a wise stance.
