Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was ripped to shreds by both Martellus and Michael Bennett on Wednesday.
Though, it appears that second-year wide receiver Kevin White has Cutler’s back. White even paid a somewhat strange compliment to his quarterback.
“Jay (Cutler) is like the pretty girl that doesn’t wear makeup and doesn’t go out, so nobody really know that she’s pretty,” White said, via Cutler via Ben Baskin of Sports Illustrated
White also called Cutler a “great guy.” This was after White said everybody had previously told him that he was “going to hate Cutler.”
Cutler could certainly use a little love after Michael Bennett called him the “worst quarterback in the NFL.” Martellus also trashed Cutler, saying his former quarterback would “throw into double coverage” when he was wide open.
Martellus’ comments might just be a bit true. Though, Cutler is far from the worst quarterback in the league.
With not a lot to work with last season, Cutler completed an average of 64.4 percent of his passes while recording a career-high 92.3 quarterback rating.
Regarding White, it sure will be nice to seem him in action this year after he missed his entire rookie season to injury. Hopefully, by the end of the 2016 season, White’s admiration for Cutler will still exist.
